All Decked Out [ME]

If this palette were true to my Christmas décor, it would be nothing but red and white. That’s my holiday color scheme, and I’m sticking with it! ☺

Santa Claus — He’s playing a blues guitar and is so cool. He was a gift to my husband a number of years ago and needs a special place on the tree because he’s so large. He always gets a prominent spot up front.

Xmas Tree — This refers to a pair of lighted, ceramic Christmas trees my mom made some 50 years ago. I keep them turned on throughout the holiday season. They represent a lot of memories—especially now that both she and dad are gone.

Lovebirds — This ornament has a pair of lovebirds perched on a swing in a gilded cage. The birds have fallen off the swing now, but that doesn’t matter. It was a gift from my mom and dad for my and my husband’s first Christmas together. It’s now 26 years old.

Angel — I love angels at Christmas time. In this fairly big ornament, the angel is made of white-painted tin. Her skirt bottom is fashioned of square pieces of clear glass that capture the tree’s lights delightfully.

Disco Ball — This is another oldie-goldie. It’s red (not grey) and shiny and comes from my folks’ collection of ornaments. It really “dances” in the lights.
